    Crucifying the Pope – A victim of sexual abuse who has not given up on the Catholic Church

    Full story here – http://bit.ly/c3n2Wj – I believe myself qualified to discuss that, not only as a lifelong Catholic who has spent much of his professional life serving the Church, but also as a victim of molestation myself, in my early teens, at the hands of a priest-teacher of mine. My abuser died years ago; I have not seen fit to sue the Church; indeed my experience was one of the factors that led me to reject progressive Catholicism and ascribe to what is generally understood to be "orthodox" Catholicism. I understand, of course, why many victims have rejected the Church, even religious belief generally, and have lived very troubled lives. How could anybody not understand that? But the generalized furor, among people who are neither victims nor loved ones of victims, strikes me as positively irrational.

    The mob should lay off. The Pope is completely innocent – Guardian

    Full story here – http://bit.ly/aXnLGh – The three recent stories from the US cited by Richard Dawkins and his mob as "proving" that the pope should be arrested under international law – the horrible cases of Murphy in Wisconsin, Teta and Trupia in Arizona, and now Kiesle in California – have this in common: the abuse took place in the 1970s; the police were informed and acted; the priest was suspended by his bishop; requests for dismissal from the clerical state ("defrocking") were sent to Cardinal Ratzinger’s department in the Vatican, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; and some time later the priests were defrocked – except in the case of Murphy, who died during his trial.

      In various Reports many had said that it is “Pure Nonsense” whoever reported or suggested to open a lawsuit against Pope Benedict XVI over sex abuse committed by others!! To which I quite agree that the Pope should not be accussed, being the head of our Catholic faith.

      But how about taking legal action against that person/persons who committed by drawing the swastika symbol on the Pope’s photographs, besides being a copyright contravention too. But with these bad photo’s many Christians and Catholics agree like me are being also offended & insulted by this page on face book against Pope Benedict XVI This page should be also either banned, or we all open a Protest on this face book page.

      the iconic usage in the Nazi Germany era, the symbol has become controversial and is widely known now as a symbol of Hate. In fact when they used this sign it was a sign of hatred to the Pope, even if one does not like him, he should not be insulted.

      The modern use of flags from the German Third Reich (1933-1945) is subject to legal restrictions in a number of countries. So why was this act permitted on facebook pages with also a copyright contravention too?
      ]
      Whilst legal in the overwhelming majority of countries,[3][4] the display of flags associated with the Nazi regime (see: Nazi flags) is subject to restriction or an outright ban in others, particularly those with a direct involvement in the Second World War, and Germany itself.

      According to Lèse majesté (Law French, from the Latin laesa maiestas, “injured majesty”; in English, also lese majesty or leze majesty) is a crime of violating majesty, an offense against the dignity of a reigning sovereign or against a state. Therefore, by these photographs they are an insult to the Christian religion that we are part of.

      It is also good to note that in Germany, Switzerland[2] and Poland it is illegal to insult..foreign heads of state publicly. On 5 January 2005, Jerzy Urban was sentenced by Poland to a fine of 20,000 złoty (about 5000 EUR or 6,200 USD) for having..insulted Pope John Paul II, a visiting head of state. Therefore, this applies to this face book page and has to be stopped and removed now.

      On http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_use_of_Nazi_flags#Czech_Republic The modern use of flags from the German Third Reich (1933-1945) is subject to legal restrictions in a number of countries.[1][2] Whilst legal in the overwhelming majority of countries,[3][4] the display of flags associated with the Nazi regime (see: Nazi flags) is subject to restriction or an outright ban in others, particularly those with a direct involvement in the Second World War, and Germany itself. Many Nazi flags make use of swastika symbols;[5] however, the swastika is not inherently but associated with hatred. It is deemed as illegal in the Czech Republic. Legal regulation of hate crimes in the Czech Republic is contained in Act 140/1961 The Criminal Act [14] (amended by Act 175/1990).

    Evangelical Reunion in the Catholic Church – Called to Communion

    Full blog post here – http://bit.ly/b6MM7u – Jeremy Tate (recent Catholic convert from Presbyterianism) writes: In each of the synoptic gospels, Jesus, holding the bread says, “This is my body.” In the gospel of John, Jesus commands his disciples to “eat his flesh and drink his blood.” Nothing, in any of these passages suggests that Jesus was speaking symbolically. The Protestant interpretation, though not put this way, begins with the belief that Jesus couldn’t possibly have meant what it sounds like He meant. In fact, the Protestant rejection of the true presence of Christ (the rationale for Eucharistic Adoration) isn’t exegetical at all; it’s simply rational. As one of my friends, a PCA Pastor put it, “the Catholic belief that the bread and wine really become the body and blood of Jesus is insane!” True…it’s pretty wild, but it’s true to the text.

      We must pray daily for Pope Benedict XVI and for the truth to be told about his work to put an end to the wickedness of sexual abuse. Oh, the fight the UK would be picking all around the world, if they allow themselves to be manipulated by these unthinking atheists. If the UK were idiotic enough, after reviewing the “evidence” (over and against the blatantly false reporting and conclusions drawn by the likes of NYT), to arrest Pope Benedict XVI for anything related to the Church sex scandal, they would be participants in an indefensible attack on the man, and the Church, that when ultimately played out (exoneration of Pope Benedict XVI) would leave the UK deservedly looking even worse than it already does and irreparably harmed. It is difficult to imagine any responsible government making such a wrongheaded move, but then again, a government crucified Jesus, so I suppose nothing should surprise us.
